Obama endorses Dianne Feinstein’s DOMA repeal

Both Boxer and Feinstein have seen their better days. They don’t represent all of California but choose to represent those in the bay area some of whom choose different lifestyles. That would me find in they were members of the house like the ever partisan Nancy Pelosi. No, Feinstein is Too Wrong and Too Long the senator with anti middle American values. Neither understand the consequences of their policies on taxation and continued spending. CA has the highest state and sales taxes of any state in the nation. Between Feinstein and Pelosi they are incapable why California has 13.0% unemployment, business shutting down, putting more Californians out of work. Business’ small and large continue to leave the state. Many larger corporations have moved their Operations overseas to remain not just competitive but to stay in business. Young families are leaving the state as well. Their tenure as ‘public servants’ can be summed up with a single word; failure.
Fortunately Elizabeth Emken has challenged Feinstein and will represent the entire state. Her common sense appeal is based on her family values, being raised on a farm as a child, her education with degrees in economics and political science at UCLA . Her studies included course work at Cambridge University, where she focused on political and economic issues in China and the Middle East.
Her career in the private sector serving in management, financial analysis, and corporate operations at IBM. As an efficiency and cost cutting expert, Elizabeth utilized activity-based cost analyses to identify administrative savings across IBM U.S. – helping streamline operations, eliminate waste, and save the company millions of dollars. Take it to the bank, Elizabeth Emken will be focused upon using her proven skill set to right the economic wrongs of “The Tax and Spend Sisters. Feinstein and Boxer.

There should be no reason a knowledgeable voter would send Feinstein who has been “Too Wrong for Too Long” for California and along with Boxer and the Democrats in the CA Assembly have nearly bankrupted the state.
President Obama has endorsed Feinstein’s DOMA repeal, called the Respect for Marriage Act, according to White House spokesman Jay Carney.
California Sen. Dianne Feinstein was one of just 14 Senators, along with Sen. Barbara Boxer, to vote against the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996, when it was the premier GOP wedge issue and had Democrats from President Clinton on down running scared. Now it’s a handful of vulnerable GOP Senators such as Scott Brown of Massachusetts who have to make a tough call. Feinstein’s legislation of course went no where. The repeal bill would need 60 votes in the 100-member Senate, and sponsors acknowledged the votes aren’t there. The measure would have no chance in the House, controlled by conservative Republicans.
Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., “has no intention of bringing this bill up this year or next. Reid “would face a revolution in his own caucus” if he did, Cornyn said. He said the Democrats were trying to satisfy their gay marriage supporters for the 2012 election.
The former San Francisco mayor who took office after gay supervisor Harvey Milk and Mayor George Moscone were assassinated, is leading the crusade to repeal DOMA, and promises to stay at it until she succeeds. She has secured the first ever Senate Judiciary Committee hearing (she’s a senior member of the committee). Here’s her bill, which is a simple repeal that strikes the law. DOMA denies all federal benefits to same-sex couples and ensures that no state is required to accept another states’s marriage — defying a longstanding principle of state reciprocity in family law.
“We are not faint hearts about this,” Feinstein said at the National Press Club today, joining the Courage Campaign’s California founder and chairman Rick Jacobs. “We are in this for the long march.” She believes she has all Democrats on board and promised to wait out the “Tea Party idealogues.” She said the Supreme Court will ultimately weigh in, but wants to pursue a legislative track as well to “secure the arena forever.”
President Obama and the Justice Department have determined that DOMA is unconstitutional and has stopped defending it in court, leading House Republicans to hire outside counsel to do so.
The administration is also leaving it to regional immigration officials to exercise discretion in deportation of the immigrant spouses in same-sex marriages..
