Indeed we can smell the election season in the air. It appears now with her seat in jeopardy Dianne Feinstein is willing to cast aside one of her main constituents, ” Big Labor.”
Why now Dianne? Two years in to this side-show and you decide it’s time you appear senatorial?
Perhaps a larger question looms, what have you and your “Bobbsey Twin” Barbara Boxer done to help Governor Jerry Brown have a come to Jesus tall with all involved?
Why was Governor Scott Walker able to begin turning things around when you have never shown the slightest inclination to do so?
Seriously, clerical workers need a union? Yet the two of you continue to blame Republicans for the states economic woes.
Simply stated, if you are not part of the solution than you are part of the problem, thus it’s time for both of you to go.
Facing the first serious challenge of her career as a U.S. Senator, in her arrogance she seeks a 5th term. Sorry Dianne, you have been “Too Wrong” for far “Too Long,” and the voters with send you back to San Francisco this November 6th.
U.S. Sens. Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein on Tuesday urged an end to the two-year stalemate between the union representing 900 clerical workers and a group of 14 shippers and terminal operators at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
Negotiations have remained calm, but the protracted struggle to strike up a labor contract is hampered by differing views on how to deal with health care costs, job security and workplace technology.
In the meantime, representatives with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union’s Office Clerical Unit Local 13 and the Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbor Employers Association could not be reached for comment as negotiations continued Tuesday.
“With the fragile state of California’s economy and growing competition from other U.S. ports, it is essential that both parties reach an agreement that will protect these important jobs and allow the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to continue operating without disruption,” the California senators wrote in a letter delivered to the union and the employers group.
